On 3rd December, 1914, the 2nd Royal Scots battalion of 8 Brigade, 3rd Division moved into trenches at Kemmel where they remained until relieved on 6th December. On 4th December, the day on which Alfred Pollock lost his life, it rained heavily all day and there was intermittent sniping throughout the day. |
